Here at M+B we’re pretty obsessed with hair care so it figures that as a team we try out a lot of new products. To make us feel better about our groaning bathroom cabinets we thought it would be cool to share some of the things we’ve found as part of a new series. We’re calling it Tried & Tested and the plan is to give you honest reviews on some of the weirdest and most hyped products out there.
For our first post we’re testing two Korean hair masks that have had some seriously good reviews online. The first one is the Kocostar Long Hair Pack and the second one is the Silk Scarf Mask from Etude House. Here are our thoughts…
Kocostar Long Hair Pack
It claims to: This is an intensely hydrating mask that’s perfect for long hair with dry or damaged ends that need rejuvenating.
Price: £8
Step 1
Spritz your hair with some water and then remove the mask from the pouch and open it up at the front.
Step 2
Place the top of the mask over your head and then push the lengths of your hair into the bottom of the sack. This might take a while as it’s full of product but you can use a comb to help you.
Step 3
Once the lengths of your hair are inside the mask you can twist it up and use the sticker to secure it in place at the top of your head.
Step 4
You can then massage the mask into your hair and leave it to sit for 20 minutes.
Step 5
Rinse your hair with warm water to remove the mask (we used our regular shampoo and conditioner) and dry as normal.

Rhian’s thoughts on the mask...
There was loads of product inside the mask which I really liked and it smelt amazing.
It did take me a while in the beginning to work out how to use it but once I figured it out it was really easy. Getting my hair into the pouch was probably the most fiddly part but that’s just because there’s so much product on the mask. As soon as I washed it off I could see a big difference in my hair and it felt way softer than usual.

Silk Scarf Mask by Etude House
It claims to: This is an oil based treatment that's perfect for coloured or dry hair as it adds lots of moisture and shine.
Price: £6.49
Step 1
First you need to open the smaller pouch with the oil treatment and really work it into the lengths of your hair. This takes a while as it’s super thick but it’s what will treat your hair and make it look shiny.
Step 2
Remove the essence coated cap and use your fingers to work the product into your hair.
Step 3
Once you’re done you can leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes.
Step 3
Rinse your hair with warm water to remove the mask (we used our regular shampoo and conditioner) and dry as normal.

Christy’s thoughts on the mask...
The oil treatment was a lot thicker than I thought it was going to be but once I worked it into my hands it was easy to apply. I feel like I could have done with way more of this though as I have short hair and there was only enough product to cover my ends. The cap smelt really good but there didn’t seem to be a lot of product on there either so I wasn’t sure how much of a difference it was going to make. My hair felt a lot softer after the treatment though and was a little less dry on the ends which is really good. I think if you have bob length hair or shorter this would be perfect for you but I definitely wouldn’t try it if you have long hair.
