How To Use Silicone On Your Hair Extensions
Last updated on
The spritz coats your extensions in a veil of silicone that refreshes the hair and makes it look shinier and feel smoother. It also protects against thermal and UV damage which in turn prolongs the life of your set. Not only that but it will protect against frizz which is perfect for the warmer months!
Most of our customers won’t need to use the spritz but if you wear your extensions on a regular basis and use lots of heat then it’s definitely a product worth picking up. We recommend using the spritz every few weeks when you feel like the hair needs some TLC or if you’ve washed or dyed your set.
Still unsure how to use it? Just follow our step by step guide.
Step 1Spray the silicone into your palm and rub your hands together to even out the product. You don’t want to use too much so don’t go overboard, a little bit goes a long way!
Step 2Gently run your hands through your extensions to evenly distribute the product. We’d recommend concentrating the product on the mid lengths to ends as they often need the most TLC. Start with a little and add more if needed to avoid applying too much.
Step 3Take your loop brush and brush through your extensions starting at the ends. This extra step will help to even out the silicone in any areas you missed with your hands.
Step 4
Leave your extensions to dry overnight so that the silicone can thoroughly absorb into the hair.
Step 5The next day use some heat protectant and then straighten your hair to seal in the product. You can then style as normal.
